I know when I feel a lack of motivation, seeing a post or a picture of someone’s ride or race almost always encourages me to get out the door!

What is your riding goal for 2019?  Do you have a special race, are you organizing a group ride or learning a new skill?

Cycling represents more to me than just riding a bike. It represents community, friendship, continuous connection with others and places, disconnection from the daily grind, self-discovery, and exploration. For me, whether I’m out hitting pavement, the dirt roads, or singletrack, there’s always some kind of a memorable experience, especially when I’m able to share it with others. One of my riding goals for 2019 is to continue to mentally and physically push myself out of my comfort zone, for I feel that the greatest opportunities and experiences aren’t always made in your comfortable bubble. Also, more importantly, I wish to grow in my ability to encourage each person I encounter who is striving to grow, to try something new, or just because of the fact that we should all be each other’s cheerleader. Here’s to more experiences, growth, and the opportunity to meet awesome people in 2019!

What can you do to encourage more women to ride and enjoy cycling?

My husband introduced me to cycling when he was racing for the Cannondale Factory Racing team. I was and still am in awe of the vast talent within the cycling community. I feel that by sharing the raw experience of a ride, whether solo or in a group, can help encourage others to get outside and to embrace the challenge, joy, and beauty of all types of riding. I know when I feel a lack of motivation, seeing a post or a picture of someone’s ride or race almost always encourages me to get out the door!
