Some of my proudest moments on a bike have been mentoring and watching women improve their skills. Nothing beats watching them roll in to the end of a ride to celebrate their longest ride, or their fastest ride or simply their most fun ride with a smile on their face!

What is your riding goal for 2019?  Do you have a special race, are you organizing a group ride or learning a new skill?

My 2019 goal is to keep it totally mixed up with a good healthy dose of road, gravel and mountain biking, both races and casual events. I am looking forward to some relay races with a group of fellow women team members on the trails and finally committing to the full Six Gap Century this fall.  I've spent the last decade organizing rides of various disciplines, because the best kinds of rides are those with your friends.

I hope that each time I ride, I learn something new. I am always trying to improve my skills. The area I could definitely use improvements is mountain biking and I look forward to watching and learning more about this discipline.

What can you do to encourage more women to ride and enjoy cycling?

Create an environment where they feel comfortable coming out to ride. Not everyone wants to ride 60 miles or 18 mph. It can be an intimidating process for many. Be open and honest about the expectations for the ride and stick to it.   Some of my proudest moments on a bike have been mentoring and watching women improve their skills. Nothing beats watching them roll in to the end of a ride to celebrate their longest ride, or their fastest ride or simply their most fun ride with a smile on their face!

Why did you choose Moxie Cycling and Wicked Girl? What is your favorite thing about us?

I was attracted to the unique designs of Moxie and Wicked Girl and the fact that your company celebrates women riders of all skill levels and types in a male dominated sport that tends to only celebrate the elite women athletes of the sport.
